Guided Work Analysis as a Structure upon which New Prevention Models should be Constructed

This paper’s goal is to contribute to re-conceptualization of prevention practices, namely in terms of vocational training. Our methodological proposal – the “MAGICA” method - points out to a global approach, integrating prevention with the remaining dimensions of collective working activities. Work (self) analysis moments are essential to this process, reinforced by recurrent moments of focussed group discussion. Starting from a reflection about training in prevention and from some conclusions and research questions raised by previous occasions in which the MAGICA method has been presented and discussed, we will try to demonstrate how alternative ways of conceiving adult training, structured around reflexive activities during work, can contribute to the construction of more effective prevention systems and to the development of the agents involved. Some organizational and ethical crucial conditions to the success of this kind of processes will also be mentioned.
