In this paper we formalize an ergonomics practice in a trucks design and assembly company. Referring to a project, and based on an industrial contract, our frame of activity is the combination of gates; by opening them, ergonomics practitioners are involved into precise results in working conditions and occupational health. We act as an "expert", a "guide "or a "shipmate", and we go through three main axis in order to impulse ergonomics methods and results as project expectations. Our conclusions highlight the fact that the control of a risk of sliding of the locating of the ergonomist has to be a preoccupation of the ergonomist's staff itself, to preserve permanently technical role and strategic role.
