The Swedish AFA Insurance provides an safety management service to industry; a branch-of-industry risk assessment, information and prevention system which operates in conjunction with the claims management system.

The basis for coverage and credible reporting is the National no-fault liability insurance, jointly owned by Unions and Employers. The information on risks, incidents, accidents and injuries in the system – and prevention measures - is shared by the participating companies in their respective branches of industry.

The information on responsible officer, countermeasures, resources, deadline for activity and reporting - is integrated into the line management system of each company. The system illustrates how it is possible to shift the issue of occupational health and safety from the side carriage to the line management of the company.
