8th International Conference WOS 2015, “Smart prevention for sustainable safety”

The main theme of the 8th edition of WOS.net is Smart Prevention for Sustainable Safety. Some of the current societal challenges, such as the demographic change, globalisation, and rising global competition for resources, are impacting the global economy and, in consequence, the way work and safety are addressed by workers, companies and policy makers.

These challenges will require smart interventions aiming at accident prevention. In other words, prevention should be planned to be socially sensitive, economically viable, innovative, multidisciplinary and, above all, be focused on creating a sustainable safety. Accordingly, safety approaches and strategies should be designed to meet the current needs but without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

The programme will include plenary sessions and parallel technical sessions. The main conference programme will start in the morning of 23th September and finish at lunchtime on 25th September.
